  • If you're looking for a thriller that has a refreshing new take on the genre, and if you love a good sociopath, then you'll love JANE DOE. This gives her a very unique voice and I will always welcome the opportunity to dive into the mind of someone with this personality trait. Jane is a sociopath and I know I'm not the only one that loves these kinds of characters. I don't want to go into the plot much more - you get all you need to know from the synopsis (finally one that doesn't spoil or mislead!). She is determined to infiltrate every aspect of his life - but why Steven and what is she going to do? Jane Doe returns to the United States and resides in Minneapolis - ah yes, a familiar landscape! She is ready to take out her revenge and she has her eye on Steven Hepworth. Just a twisted female lead that is hellbent on revenge. No unreliable narrators, no jumping between time lines and perspectives, and no real twists. This isn't your typical psychological thriller in that it doesn't have all the tropes and writing devices that we all have come to expect. So, a psychological thriller that is set in Minnesota? Count me in! JANE DOE is exactly what it says it is, a revenge story. Don't mess with Jane.Īn easy psychological thriller that will be hard to put down once you pick it up. Just a solid story told from beginning to end. (I also now want a cat more than I had previously but that's a whole other story.) What I enjoyed even more was the straight up linear psychological thriller without any throat punching twists or great reveals.

I did love this tale of revenge, the course of action Jane took and her inner monologue throughout the story. Thankfully the synopsis is vague enough that you pretty much are even with that. There's SO MANY THINGS I'd like to discuss about this book but you really should walk in blind. Probably the way she would've liked it and certainly the way that I did.

This story is told through Jane and Jane only. You never really know what's going on with Jane at the beginning but your curiosity is definitely piqued. It almost makes me think I'm a bit on the spectrum to being a sociopath and well. Hell, I want to BE Jane Doe! A friend said her sarcasm was similar to mine and this made me weirdly proud. I want Jane to be my friend and protector.
